Or you can put a jack socket in the Game Boy, which takes a little more work, but isn’t much harder to do. Only tested with a Volca so far, and syncs nicely without you need to cut off one connector of a link cable (DMG 04) and solder(/twist/whatever) two of the wires to a jack plug. So I put a sync port on the bottom left of the Game Boy, soldered to the link port’s solder points. I didn’t have a spare cable (I need the one I have for the printer, since the Game Boy is a camera when it’s not a musical instrument), but I have some mono jack sockets.
